Our last few discussions with Brian have been about the general topic of politicians ignoring voters.  This is an update on those situations and an introduction to another instance happening Friday night.

• The Blue 22
  • The collaboration between the entire Democrat caucus and the supposed Republicans that vote with them continues to cost Ohio conservatives.
  • Earlier this month Ohio "discovered" $700 million extra in the "General Revenue Fund"
    • First off, how do you not know about $700 million
    • Of course the reaction is to immediately spend it on "one time" projects (read buy voters)
    • The House spending of half of that was passed by all 31 Democrats and 44 Republicans. All 19 nays were Republicans.
  • In the final session before the primary, the Blue 22 joined with the Democrats to refuse to vote on the bill to cut DEI from state schools and to not bring the Second Amendment Preservation act to a vote.
• The Colerain Township GOP is pushing to endorse our current representative, one of the key Blue 22
  • There is a meeting tonight of the Colerain Precinct Executives to endorse in the primary.
  • There has not been a contested primary in 12 years, and the reaction to giving the voters a choice is to stack the deck for the incumbent!
  • Picking a censured candidate that was rejected for endorsement by the Ohio state party, seems to be destructive to the process and to the party.
• Harrison High Density Development
  • In another packed meeting on Tuesday, the Harrison City Council gave final approval to the Oakland Hills "high density development"
  • This is just an frightening refusal to listen to the 1,000 voters that petitioned to stop this.
• Colerain Police Levy
  • The push is on to pass the levy that is 5% higher than the one that failed just 3 months ago!
  • I have yet to see anything that starts with the actual budget request from the Police Chief and explains the picking of a random milage to ask from the voters.
